Dennis Bovell is a pioneer of British reggae music. As a musician, DJ, producer, composer and dub engineer, he has shaped various forms of this music like no other: in the 70s with his band Matumbi, then as a musical companion of Linton Kwesi Johnson, as a dub master or as a co-inventor of the Lovers Rock genre. As producer of the debut albums by The Slits and The Pop Group, Dennis Bovell created milestones of post-punk.
